Loose Carries started the way most good things do — on a rugby pitch. John grew up in New Orleans. His co-founder grew up an ocean away in Ripon, England. Two very different upbringings, same obsession, until college rugby in the US put them on the same side of the ball and turned strangers into teammates, and teammates into best friends.

What started as post-practice conversations about kit, fit, and why so much rugby apparel felt like an afterthought turned into something bigger: a brand built by players, for players. Rugby was the common language. Clothing became the way to speak it.

The name says it plainly. In rugby, playing “loose” means staying free, moving without fear, backing yourself in open space. “Carrying strong” means taking the ball forward when it matters, holding your ground, not going down easy. That's the standard we build to — on the field and in every stitch.

Loose Carries is co-founded, still run day to day by both of us, and still built around the same idea that brought us together in the first place: play loose, carry strong.
